Localization Features Allow Attorneys in Any Country to Use the Program
NORTH BRUNSWICK, N.J. – October 7, 2014 – CosmoLex announced today the release of version 2.1 of their cloud-based law office management software. The new version adds localization features designed to support the company’s international customers.
CosmoLex debuted in the U.S. and rapidly gained hundreds of customers. Since legal practice management needs are universal regardless of country, the company soon started to receive inquiries from attorneys outside of the U.S. Lawyers in places such as Canada and Australia deal with the same time tracking, billing, trust accounting, docket control and other basic practice management tasks that U.S. attorneys do.
One factor that has driven this interest in CosmoLex from attorneys in other countries is that CosmoLex is the only cloud-based legal practice management software that includes a fully integrated trust (IOLTA) accounting system.
The new localization features include the ability to refer to provinces instead of states and to include a list of supported countries and their provinces in the attorney’s address book. Users can opt for either the U.S. date format MM/DD/YYYY or the international format DD/MM/YYYY. Users can also opt for different currency symbols such as $ or £.
“CosmoLex had planned an international launch in 2015 but law firms from other countries began contacting us shortly after the U.S. release,” says company CEO Rick Kabra. “CosmoLex now has customers in nearly every state in the U.S. as well as in many other countries.”
CosmoLex is the only cloud-based practice management system that provides complete front and back office support specifically designed for the legal profession. The software started as a billing, collection and trust account management system but has expanded to provide services such as team calendaring, comprehensive conflict checking and docket management, all using a matter-centered organizational scheme.
