Cloud vs. On-Premise Security
Security is a significant concern for attorneys new to cloud-based law practice management software. We all know that the internet is routinely used for banking at a personal level, but a law firm acts as the fiduciary to many types of financial transactions. Are they safe? Is client confidentiality adequately protected? What is the current state of Cloud-based security? Surprisingly, CosmoLex is more secure than what you have in your office! Read on…
Secure Cloud Computing Architecture
At CosmoLex we use a security by design approach in our coding and infrastructure perimeter to create an architecture that is rock solid. In fact, your data is safer with CosmoLex legal practice management software, than it is in your office. And, we have an Independent Security Assessment report to back this claim.
All traffic between your computer and CosmoLex law firm software is protected by 256-bit SSL encryption, the same data protection used by major online banks. All of your data is stored encrypted (encryption at rest). Data encryption ensures all communication with CosmoLex is protected from eavesdropping by hackers.
Advanced Account-Level Security
In addition to these infrastructure-level security controls, CosmoLex provides sophisticated controls to secure your individual account. When you enable Two Factor Authentication, also known as 2FA, you get an extra layer of security that requires not only a username and password but also a second verification code delivered via SMS to your mobile phone. Additionally, CosmoLex ‘User Management‘ lets you assign security levels, roles, and access privileges to each user.
How often do you backup your office computers? If you are like many other businesses, you don’t backup often enough! We backup your data every four hours. And we keep your backups encrypted and stored in multiple locations, to provide maximum file redundancy and safety. You’ll never worry about losing data again!
U.S. Based Servers & Personnel
All CosmoLex hardware, data storage, and customer support teams are based in the United States and subject to U.S. jurisdiction. Security is our #1 concern. Our professionally managed state-of-the-art data center can keep your data safer than you can.
Independent Security Assessment
You don’t have to take our word as to the level of security we offer, but rather listen to the independent security experts. CosmoLex legal practice management software passed the scrutiny of a threat assessment analysis of our code and architecture perimeter conducted by leading industry security expert, Phalanx Secure Solutions, Inc.
